I was born in London, England, and my early studies were with the Royal College of Music in London. I've been teaching now for over forty years, and my influences as a teacher have come from many different sources: my own teachers, my students, as well as colleagues around the world.

What I've found is that each culture has its own unique way of looking at music and piano teaching. And so, one of the great joys of my work has been to explore these different approaches and see how they can be integrated into my own teaching.
